Free GST invoice generator

Short answer

Yes — you can create a GST invoice free, right here, with no signup. Fill in your details and the line items below, and the tool builds a Rule 46 compliant tax invoice, splits CGST/SGST or IGST automatically from the place of supply, and prints or saves it as PDF. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

  • No account, no email
  • No watermark, no invoice limit
  • No data sent anywhere
  • Works offline once the page has loaded

Enter the rate after any discount — Rule 46 asks for the taxable value net of discount.

Notes & signature

Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or logged — the generator does all its work in your browser and transmits none of it. Closing the tab erases the invoice, so print or save it first. General GST information, not tax advice.

Who this generator is for — and who should skip it

Use it if…

  • You raise a handful of invoices a month and a spreadsheet keeps getting mangled.
  • You are newly GST-registered and want to see a correct tax invoice before you commit to any software.
  • You are a freelancer or consultant billing a few clients on SAC codes.
  • You need one invoice right now, on a borrowed laptop, without creating an account.
  • You do not want customer names and GSTINs sitting in a stranger's database.

Skip it if…

  • You are a composition dealer or your supply is exempt — you must issue a bill of supply and collect no tax. Use the free bill of supply template.
  • You need e-invoicing with an IRN and QR code from the government portal — a browser tool cannot register an invoice with the IRP.
  • You need the invoice number series, customer history, stock, payment tracking and a GSTR-1 summary to follow from the invoice. That is billing software, and ours is ₹399 a month with unlimited users.
  • You are billing the same customers every month — re-typing them will cost you more than the software does.

FAQ

Questions people ask about this GST invoice generator

Is this GST invoice generator actually free, or do I hit a paywall after a few invoices? +
It is free with no limit and no account. There is no invoice counter, no signup wall and no watermark, because the tool runs in your browser rather than on our servers — there is nothing for us to meter. You can use it for one invoice or for every invoice you ever raise.
I do not want my customer names and GSTINs sitting on someone else’s server — where does this data go? +
Nowhere. The generator runs entirely in your browser: it transmits nothing you type and stores nothing — no server, no database, no saved draft. Your business details, customer names and GSTINs never leave the tab. Close the tab and they are gone, so print or save the PDF before you leave.
How does it know whether to charge CGST and SGST or IGST? +
From the two state fields. If the place of supply is the same state as your own, the supply is intra-state and the tool splits the GST rate in half as CGST and SGST. If the place of supply is a different state or union territory, it is inter-state and the whole rate is charged as IGST. Change either state and the invoice re-splits immediately.
I run a small shop and raise about 30 invoices a month — is a generator like this enough, or do I need billing software? +
At 30 invoices a month a generator is honestly fine for the invoice itself, but it cannot do the things around it: it will not keep an invoice number series for you, will not remember a customer you billed last week, will not track what is unpaid, and will not produce a GSTR-1 summary at filing time. When re-typing the same customers and chasing payments in a notebook starts costing you more time than the invoice does, that is the point to move to billing software.
Can I use this if I am a composition dealer or if my supply is exempt? +
No — a composition dealer or an exempt/nil-rated supply must issue a bill of supply, not a tax invoice, and must not collect GST. This tool always produces a tax invoice with tax heads. Use the free bill of supply template on our GST invoice format guide instead; it carries the prescribed "Composition taxable person, not eligible to collect tax on supplies" declaration.
Does the invoice this creates satisfy Rule 46 of the CGST Rules? +
It carries every Rule 46 field: your name, address and GSTIN, a consecutive invoice number and date, the recipient’s details, HSN or SAC per line, description, quantity, taxable value, the rate and amount under each tax head, place of supply with the state code, whether tax is payable on reverse charge, the total in figures and words, and a signature block. You still have to fill them in accurately, and this is general information rather than tax advice.
When one invoice becomes a hundred

Billing software that remembers the customer, the stock and what's unpaid

A generator makes one invoice. 399Apps keeps the number series, the customer list, the stock count and the GSTR-1 summary — flat ₹399 per month per app, unlimited users, cloud or self-hosted.
