399apps exists because most business software is either too expensive, too bloated, or too closed. We are building a small catalogue of focused apps — accounting and inventory — that are honest with their price and generous with their hosting.
Why we built this
Small businesses, communities and niche operators in India have always been served by either expensive global SaaS, or by old-school desktop software that no one wants to use anymore. We wanted to build a third option: products that feel like Linear or Stripe to use, priced like an Indian tool, and offered with the option to self-host on your own server when you need it.
How we work
We ship like engineers, not like an agency. Every product has a small surface area, a clean codebase, and a real deploy story. We support self-hosting because we think you should be able to leave us. We sell yearly because monthly billing makes us optimise for the wrong thing.
Who builds it
399apps is built, deployed and maintained by shabuilds — a small, focused product studio. The 399apps app store is one of the things we run; if you like how this works, you might want to talk to us about your own product too.
The people behind 399apps
The same people who design the apps also write the code, run the deploys and answer support — there is no reseller, agency or call-centre layer between you and the team that builds your software. That is deliberate. We would rather ship a handful of well-built apps and stand behind them than resell a dozen we do not understand. When something breaks, you reach the engineers who can actually fix it.

A typical retail setup
A single-location retail shop moving off paper registers and a desktop billing tool starts on the ₹399 plan for GST billing, then adds the ₹99 inventory module as stock grows.
Within a quarter they are issuing GST-compliant invoices, tracking stock without a spreadsheet, and reconciling at month-end in minutes instead of an evening — for less than the price of a single legacy licence.
