Where 399Apps has the clear advantage

Vyapar is licensed per device — Silver covers one device and Gold caps at five firms total. Add a second billing person, a warehouse staff member, or an accountant and you need another device license (₹3,419–₹4,319/year per device). 399Apps includes unlimited users on every plan at ₹399/month for your first app (prices exclude GST), so headcount never changes the bill.

On accounting depth, 399Apps is built for full books: ledgers, P&L, balance sheet, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B exports, TDS and e-invoicing. Vyapar is billing-first — excellent for fast GST invoice printing and basic reports, but it does not provide full ledger-based accounting. If your CA needs proper books or you want P&L and a balance sheet, you will need a separate accounting tool alongside Vyapar.

If your CA works in Tally, Nidhi Books can export your sales invoices as TallyPrime XML — masters and vouchers — which imports directly via Alt+O. Vyapar has no equivalent Tally export. This removes the biggest switching objection: you can run 399Apps for day-to-day billing and hand your accountant a Tally-ready file at any time.

For businesses selling online, 399Apps includes a Storefront and Ecommerce app with sync to Shopify, Amazon, and Flipkart. Vyapar has no e-commerce integrations — orders from online channels must be entered manually. If you sell through D2C or marketplace channels, the gap is significant.

If you are a single-user business that needs fast, reliable mobile GST billing — printing invoices, tracking receivables, scanning barcodes at a counter — the Vyapar free or Silver plan is hard to beat. It is optimised for that mobile-first billing flow and widely trusted by shopkeepers and small traders.

Vyapar also suits businesses that operate in areas with poor internet connectivity, since it can work offline and sync later. 399Apps is cloud-dependent, so a reliable connection is needed.

The calculus shifts the moment you hire a billing assistant, want your accountant to access the books, or need full GST filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) built in. At that stage the per-device Vyapar cost plus a separate accounting tool typically exceeds 399Apps with everything included.
